Come on an exploration journey of traditional yogic techniques: pranayama (yogic breathing) and yoga nidra (yogic sleep). In this class, we will explore the connection between the body, physical breath, prana and consciousness. Complementing the practical aspect, we will also cover the key yogic concepts underlying these techniques. The class is suitable for both beginners and seasoned yogic practitioners. Everybody is welcome! Pranayama practices involve yogic breathing techniques that expand the conscious experience of life energy—prana. Discover the inner workings of your breath, raise your energy, and bring calmness to your mind, preparing it for meditation. Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, is a progressive relaxation method and guided meditation that allows the entire body to relax and regenerate. Disconnect from the mind-body complex and experience the serene fullness of your existence. Nidra is a restorative technique that harnesses your body's inherent intelligence to meet your current needs optimally. The class is held at a cozy private shala in Easey Street in Collingwood. Limited spots are available. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the class and bring your mat. Other yogic props are available in the shala.
